HONOR SONG TO FATHER SKY

The constellations, the planets, and the stars blend a story as ageless as the heavens in the never ending spiral of the Milky Way.  The night sky speaks of these Light Beings, their constellations, and the moon in her reflection of Grandfather Sun.  Each evening, when the sun sets in the West, Grandfather Sun is honored by the Light Beings weaving the web of constellar light into life.  Father Sky’s constellar light sets the stage for the lunar cycles, the seasonal cycles, and the life cycles of all beings gifted with the nurturing of Mother Earth.  Even Grandmother Moon shines her reflected Light onto Mother Earth to guide those on their nocturnal path.

TRIBUTE TO MOTHER EARTH

When the Sacred Masculine of Grandfather Sun reflects on the Divine Feminine of Grandmother Moon, the elements of life – water, air, earth, and fire – express themselves in an earth astrology that tells of the nurturing support of Mother Earth day and night.  These elements of life combine into the never ending cycles of Mother Earth’s being (seed, growth, harvest, and rest) and are experienced by all life on their earth walks.  Legends speak of the marriage between the Sun and the Moon and the birth of the Four Winds, the “four great pillars of the Universe”.

EARTH WALK

From our births to our deaths in the physical realm of Earth we manifest our realities.  During these lifespans seeds are sown, ideas sprout and grow to blossom, the fruits of our labors manifest into harvest, and the foundation of our security is built.  The ongoing cycles of each Earth Walk teach us the lessons we are here to learn and move us forward in our authentic quest for purposeful action.

WEST WIND

The Sacred Dance begins in the West which houses the oldest element of life, the element of fire.  Here the Light is sought within the darkness of introspection in the journey of self knowing.  Such introspection seeks out one’s soul purpose, one’s authenticity.  Many cultures have vision quests to identify the authenticity of one’s earth walk or to gain knowledge for the survival of the people.  Out of the darkness of the mind comes the light of knowing, the guiding power of Spirit, to ensure the dream within comes to life.  The Grizzly Bear is the Spirit Keeper of the West.

NORTH WIND

The North houses the element of water, the essence of knowledge and wisdom.  Here, at this focus of the Sacred Dance, our connection to Spirit is confirmed with the abundance of Buffalo, the Spirit Keeper of the North.  In the past Buffalo gave to the native people all they needed to survive.  Today this offering includes the learning of knowledge and wisdom, the manifestation of earthly foundations, and the sprouting of seeds sown in the passion of West’s energy of introspection and fire.

EAST WIND

East Wind holds the element of air – our connection to Spirit and our knowledge of illuminated being.   Coastal legend tells of Raven stealing the Light and returning the Light to Mother Earth’s sphere.  Out of the darkness of the West and out of the sprouted seeds of illumination comes the perspective of heartfelt introspection in action.  The Eagle, the Spirit Keeper of the East, who flies above all creation, sees life from a higher viewpoint, lights our path of Spiritual growth, and strengthens our connection to Raven’s magical gateway.

SOUTH WIND

We arrive in the South where the element of earth is strengthened by humility and innocence.  All creation is matter manifested from the passion of fire, the knowledge and wisdom of water, and the illumination of Spirit (Air).  Hence, the seeds of Spiritual growth sprout into a harvest of peace, harmony, compassion, and love all in balance with energy’s polarity.  Deer, the Spirit Keeper of the South, speaks of the gentle footsteps needed to conquer this balance point – spiritually, in earthly foundation, and in knowledgeable application.

SACRED HEART

The Sacred Heart – the Soul within.  The path within claims Spirit’s authority in our Earth Walks.  This is observed by the authentic paths we live, learn by, and grow into.  The Sacred seeds the challenges experienced which harvest themselves into fruitful transformation.  These fruits from within are expressed in the realities created in our outside worlds.  So … as Marla McNeill reminds me, “Keep your Sacred Heart beating.”

ROUND DANCER

Earth Walks are united in spirit around the Sacred Circle.  As authentic paths are travelled, all voices blend to create an energy of Universal Oneness.  It is through the heartfelt desire to connect on all levels of being that the Round Dancer honors the Sacred Dance of spiritual growth around the Sacred Circle.  Step gently and release your burdens with the transformation of united and balanced Divine Masculine and Sacred Feminine energies.
